Connect ChatGPT to Amazon Seller Central and Amazon Ads

Plan and workspace requirements

Custom MCP apps run through ChatGPT’s developer mode, which is in beta. OpenAI offers it on selected plans, and full MCP support with write actions is limited further. On Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces an admin may need to allow developer mode or custom apps first. Check OpenAI’s developer mode help article for what your plan includes today.

Create the Agentic Sellar app

1. Turn on developer mode

   Open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and switch on Developer mode. ChatGPT shows a warning that unverified apps can change data; read it and confirm.

2. Create an app

   Back in Apps & Connectors, select Create. Name it Agentic Sellar and give it a clear description, such as “Amazon Seller Central and Amazon Ads data and tools for my seller accounts”. ChatGPT reads the description when deciding whether to use the app.

3. Add the URL and choose OAuth

   Enter https://agenticsellar.com/mcp as the MCP server URL and set authentication to OAuth. Agentic Sellar does not use static API keys, so leave any client ID and secret fields empty unless ChatGPT requires them.

4. Sign in and choose accounts

   Save the app. ChatGPT opens an Agentic Sellar sign-in, where a workspace owner picks the Amazon accounts ChatGPT may use. The consent screen says whether ChatGPT is asking for write access.

5. Select it in a chat

   Start a new chat, choose Agentic Sellar from the tools menu, and ask your question. Mentioning “Agentic Sellar” in the prompt helps ChatGPT pick the right app.

How write actions are approved

Agentic Sellar labels every write tool as a destructive MCP action and refuses writes that lack a write scope or an explicit confirmation argument. ChatGPT decides when to ask you for confirmation based on the app’s permissions and the action, and may block actions it considers too risky. Review every proposed bid, budget, campaign-state or listing change before you approve it.

Be specific about the account, marketplace and dates. ChatGPT calls fewer tools when the request names them.

• Use Agentic Sellar to list my Amazon accounts, then show yesterday’s order metrics for the US marketplace.
• Get Sponsored Products campaign performance for the last 30 days and rank campaigns by ACoS.
• Pull the keywords in my top campaign and show which ones have clicks but no sales this month.
• Look up the catalog details and current listing status for ASIN B0EXAMPLE1.
• Raise the daily budget on campaigns that ran out of budget three or more days this week. List them first and wait for my go-ahead.

Security notes

• ChatGPT never sees your Amazon credentials. It receives an Agentic Sellar token that expires after 60 minutes, within a connection that lasts at most 30 days.
• OpenAI warns that untrusted MCP servers can expose you to risks such as prompt injection. Data returned from Amazon, such as listing text or search terms, is content, not instructions; review what ChatGPT proposes before approving writes.
• Each accepted tool call leaves a receipt in Agentic Sellar with the operation, account, status and time.
• Revoke access from Settings → Agent access in Agentic Sellar and delete the app in ChatGPT when you no longer need it.
